BWO CDC Floating Emerger
This pattern is designed to match the emerging Blue Wing Olive fly.
BWO is short for Blue Winged Olive (also called Baetis). In Colorado (and most of the west) this is probably our most common hatch on the rivers. Hatches are strongest in the spring and falls. Hatches can start as early as 11:00 or as late as 2:30. Most fisherman believe the best hatches occur on miserable days (overcast with chances of rain).
Typically, I will apply floatant to just the body. Do no put silicone floatant on CDC.
